Ive been leaning that way myself. One question. How much water gets in when it rains hard? Not that it really matters other than when we are travelling on vacation we often put baskets of clothing in the bed. My previous GMC I put an Extang soft cover. It was 95% dry most of the time but some water got in over the bedrails. No big deal. However on the steel body GMC, that area ended up rusting and blistering a bit due to NJ salty winters.

Mine stays dry in wild water. I made sure the front to back alignment was really good so that the back gasket seals well. Pretty much the only ingress is is by the tailgate and it’s only a couple drops even after a drive through the car wash.

Day one of install we got some showers and a little water got through, maybe half a cup total, very little. I think his will improve as the top settles into place and all the rubber and plastic conforms to the shape of the bed over time.
I bought two at once and got them for $775. That’d tell me the price point buying one ought to be $8-900.
Thats about the same as the MX4. If they are the same as the F1 then thats not a bad price, F1 being 1K+.
So if I have this right, MX4 is painted aluminum, F1 is aluminum with a layer of FRP over it and the Line-X is aluminum with FRP(same as F1) plus a layer of Line-X. Or is it actually the same as the MX4 with Line-X coating instead of the matte black paint?

*Line-X list them at $1199
The Linex is an F1. It is not linexed over the top.

Now Im really confused hahaha, in their description of the LXP cover they say, "The Truck Gear by LINE-X® LXP Cover safeguards your cargo with heavy-duty folding panels that are reinforced with a LINE-X® coating for extreme resistance to damage'.
They also have the "Stealth" cover that sounds exactly like the MX4.

I think they’re all “marketing”. One of the two I bought from Linex that came in sealed boxes had Bak labels on it. There was no difference. The coating isn’t a thick Linex or anything. The fiber panels are also clearly painted before assembly in the aluminum hinges so i don’t see how Linex would do anything.
I suppose Linex might supply Bak with a special coating... but that seems unlikely. Linex truckgear is really just a branding initiative for Linex to get markup on items customers buy through them...

This is my understanding as well. Wether or not the LXP actually has LineX on it I don't know but the marketing does specifically state that it is coated with LineX. I was quoted 860 and 960 for the stealth and LXP respectively. I did get a few bucks off for purchasing a spray in liner at the same time. With lifetime warranty it seems like a pretty good value.
I had LineX spray in my in my bedliner (premium $530) this weekend. They quoted me $1199 for the LXP cover. They offered to take $100 off and install it. I said no thanks. I'll probably go with Lomax Pro tri-fold diamond plate cover and do my own install. They're $863 from AutoAnything.

Good price on the premium, not so great on the bed cover. Here the standard bedliner is $535 and $710 for the premium. The prices that others have paid for the LineX covers are pretty good, especially considering the lifetime warranty.
Local Line-X dealer(sprayed my bed last month) quoted me $1200 on the Stealth and $1300 on the LXP, includes installation. I wouldn't want it installed but I have a feeling that wouldn't change that quote much. So I ordered an MX4.
