Unless you delayed posing your question to FTE, that's nearly impossible to try to read that many books in that amount of time.
The Halloween idea seems to be one you could easily write a history research paper about, but I think you may have a harder time developing a interesting and original thesis statement (to argue) around it (if that is what your English class requires). I could be quite wrong about that though.
Well, I have my project's topic picked out. I'm doing the "history of the FBI" I should get an easy 10 pages out of that. Now I just have to get my lazy behind to type it all before oct. 15th.
When you come to your subject, use all kinds of resources. In high school, I had to debate someone. He was for marijuana legalization, and I was against. I went through the DEA to get pictures and articles on this.. You'd be surprised how much help you get, if you just ask.
I need 30 working bibliographies...just basically find something relevant and then next week search through them for quotes. I need 5 internet sources and 3 print sources for my paper at the end.
Pick your subject, dial it in to Google advanced search. Up will pop your sources. Do you need to cite them? If you just need a a biblio-, this is quick and fair. You will have print sources in there in the form of news articles. If you are writing in APA, get yourself a template from the internet. The time and frustration saved makes it worthwhile. Again, legal and fair. I think it works for MLA too. Enjoy
Speaking of doing HW on the net, get this :
One of my college teachers said there's a program in the school that the teachers use, that, when for example a student hands in a report, all the teacher has to do is type in one sentence from the report, and the computer would do a search and see if it finds evidence of plagerism from a website. (to see of you copied word-from-word from some web-site)
I got a great topic. Write about Bronco's. You can talk about when they were first designed, how they changed over the years, and how popular and powerful they are!!! That's what I would do!!

I think she's full of it.
True stuff, my friend. The school pays a pretty penny for the service, it isn't infallible, but catches a hell of a lot. Plagiarism is THE crime of today and colleges are not taking it lightly. Yeah, it's a crime. Proper citation makes it an un-crime. You can use anybodies' work, as long as you give credit. Might not get you a good grade, but you won't get tossed for academic dishonesty. Believe it!
I see someone's earlier post that they hate english class. Well, I work in high tech, and let me tell you that the #1 skill people need is communication, written and verbal (typing runs high too, learn to touch type). You can be the smartest person in history, but if you can't communicate your ideas, it's all worthless.
But, in the end, creative Writing 101 (or whatever) is a sucky class taught by TA's who could find anything better to do. But you should learn to communicate.
topic idea: Why every single liberal idea of the past 40 years has been a complete failure yet for some reason the solution is to do more of the same failed ideas. :-: (this probably won't go over well in college, but sometimes you gotta say WTH)
You aren't alone.
I have a research paper due Nov. 4 for College Composition. I hate that class. I really hate research papers, they don't let me have any creativity, not that I really want to write to begin with.
My research paper is on the game management principles of Aldo Leopold. I picked up a couple thick books and promptly fell asleep reading them. I truly despise biographies. They never gather the correct feeling of this guy. I wish I had time to sift through his thousands of essays.
