Hello everyone! Something I've been wanting to do for a while. I'm very much a hater of blinker/brake light combos. Amber indicators have been proven to be much safer. Is this possible? I don't want to do this unless I know it won't mess anything else up.

Well you would have to rewire the entire turn signal circuit. Then you would also have to figure out how to add an extra bulb in the tailight
Australian F-series had amber turn signals in the rear. They also used old-style rectangular sealed beam headlights instead of the aerodynamic plastic ones.
Not sure of the wiring changes needed, but it was done at one time.
Brazil's F-1000 trucks had thr separated amber signal if you can source a set. Your choice but kinda pointless going to all that trouble for amber turn signals. If people would pay better attention when they drive roads would be much safer. However it can be done good luck with your swap.

Reason: Typo

Sadly, sounding like it's much more trouble than it's worth... That'll be a project once I know more about our trucks. Thanks guys!

Actually, I kinda like those! Yes, it would take some work, but the styling would certainly make your truck a "one of a kind" anywhere you go. Here in the States anyway.
I may just bookmark this thread, as I think I prefer those Old School headlights, as well.
You just need a simple 2 to 3 wire trailer converter module, used all the time on trailers.
Can you use those "backwards"? I've used them for converting an amber/red vehicle (three wire) to an all red (2 wire) trailer, but not the other way around.

I'd assume bad things happen when you connect anything electrical "backwards".

this is a good point, but i did find evidence on other forums of that product working as well as another in the reverse. but its a meritable concern, and worth investigating or at least testing.
nothing bad happens when you wire a dc motor backwards except the direction of rotation
Edit. my bad I didnt see you werent responding to me but to the other guy lol.
You're more likely to win the lottery than to prevent yourself being in an accident. There are so many other things that you could do.
i could also fix my air bag (which i do intend to fix it so 1) it stops blinking at me 2) It stops beeping at me randomly in cold weather on startup 3) it has a functional airbag. the accident type im talking about would be more rear-ends and reaction time based things.
Not life or death scenarios so much. Also the primary purpose is to satisfy what I would like for the looks and the function, I also have put amber turns on my trailer as well
I believe the tail light assembly itself splits the function of the wire from the truck to not just come on with the brakes , since the brakes are tied to the turns im pretty sure on the 2 wires

Yah know... I've got a 92 GT that I converted to LX tails with the amber over the factory cheese-graters years ago.
Those tails would help match up this pair even better with their white/porno red interiors....
