It's not and that is why we have ABS systems in our trucks and cars, when the tires begin to slide they loose traction. If I make a hard stop and hear my trailer tires lockup I back off of the controler gain, and with my disk brakes on the trailer I can lock them up.

Just my opinion

But the ABS System is so you don't lose steering control and wear out tires.

Agree with both the above...and a great thing about the Ford brake controller is that it makes the trucks ABS also control the brakes on the RV so you never should have a LOCKUP.....

I don't think the brake controller has any ABS action on the RV's brakes. For the simple reason their is no speed sensors on the RV's tire spindles.

I DOES work in conjunction with your trucks ABS as in it pulses the brakes as the ABS does. Read your owners manual. Obviously NOT with the hand actuated lever but with the brake pedal.

I read the manual again. The TBC's output is proportional to the brake pedal pressure. (Page 257).
If the ABS controlled the trailer wheels, it would cause the trailer to push the truck out of control I would think.

Dealer had no way of checking output (test equipment) at the seven way, with trailer disconnected, said they followed a Ford "procedure" and determined output from the truck was correct, but couldn't quantify the output, as displayed on the dash display when the trailer is connected. Took truck and trailer to trailer dealer. Their piece of equipment (trailer seven way plug inserted into a tester) indicated that the trailer brakes were functioning properly. Their conclusion, no (or insufficient) output from the truck. A quick google search found this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ipa-9107a/
I figured finding someone to actually diagnose the problem would probably set me back a benjamin for their diagnostic time, so I bought the IPA tester (cheaper from Amazon). Long story short, tester indicated truck WAS fine at the seven way (it simulates a connected trailer), problem WAS with the trailer, which I was able to diagnose, and repair.

Have you tried burnishing the trailer brakes? Mine, when it’s been sitting for a few weeks not being used, need to be broken in again. I will use the manual slider first before using the truck brakes when coming to a stop, after a half dozen times or so the trailer brakes start getting stronger to the point of locking up with full power from the manual slider. I can then reduce the controller braking power to them.

Keep it simple, hell im confused, my truck will lockup my legend trailer with drum brakes at crawling speeds, then i adjust speed and the output, you should feel the trailer tug slightly on truck. Need agood charged battery in trailer, jack up trailer one side at a time ,then pull emergency switch, locked or not? if wheels are not locked then its the trailer. Most likely its the trailer.
