oil pressure

On cold starts, in cold temperatures, my oil pressure light and guage indicate low pressure. Oil level is fine and only occurs in cold weather. Once engine warms up a bit everything is fine. Is this a sending unit issue?

2001 supercrew 5.4L 4x4

Could be, What type of oil filter do you use? How many miles on the engine?

Sending unit problems usually only occur randomly.....I have never had one with symptoms like yours and it be the sending unit.

Truck has about 37,000 miles on it. It has always been serviced @ a Ford dealer, most likely a Motorcraft filter.

Being that it is just past the warranty 36000 miles, the dealer may try to help you out.
