Leveling kit - maybe not such a good idea?
Curious, is that alert just an indicator or is there a feature that controls the sway of the trailer? I know I have a lot less stability than what I had with the factory set up. Kind of regretting putting the money into tires, shocks and leveling kits which sacrificed the trailer towing.
Lastly, is there a way to adjust that icon using Forscan? Even if I put a case of beer in the back it seems to be enough to set it off. Driving around unloaded no issues.
Thanks for your time.
Tow heavy every weekend in the summer with your exact setup and have never experienced what you are describing (leveled, 35s and bags).
Your truck does have a trailer sway feature. It can be turned on or off. Mines on and I still have never been told I have an issue when I’m working my SRW harder than I should. Do you have a pic of the indication? Guessing it’s just the stability control light flashing or are you getting the “Trailer Sway Reduce Speed” message? Do you feel it actually engaging?
I did feel I was Nose High and got flashed alot before the air bags.
Nothing flashing - I couldn't tell you if its working or not working. I also didn't see a feature to turn it off? The indicator is down on the bottom right of the screen (right next to the engine brake indicator light) IIRC. It is more of an indicator light than a warning light (nothing flashing in the center display or telling me to reduce speed). It has a picture of a vehicle than a dashed arc line with a another image of the vehicle above it off the side. I'll try to get a pic or it, I looked on the old interweb and couldn't find that symbol. I assumed it was trailer sway as it only comes on when I hook up a trailer (weighing the back end down). I really don't understand what the feature does? or how it works which is a little embarrassing to admit (I just assumed it was a sway bar added). I don't have the truck right now otherwise I would run outside and grab a pic for you. So maybe this isn't so common ? Note: it comes on whether its the goose neck or a bumper pull. Even my 12' enclosed bike trailer sets it off. Curious if the truck recognizes the trailer lights (ie. trailer) which sets it off?
Appreciate the feedback.
Also, anti-sway works by braking the vehicle (and possibly the trailer) at certain moments to stop sway. It pulses them from one side of the vehicle to the other with the movement of the truck, in my experience. And it works pretty good. Don't ask how I know haha
