Hello out there!
I was driving off road yesterday...nothing crazy just driving down a rough dirt road and my doors were rattling like they were going to come off the hinges. Couple of times I actually stopped, opened and closed them cause it was so loud I thought they had come open. They were not. So where should I start tightening and which parts are the usual suspects I should be checking?
Thanks in advance

Door striker. Try loosening them and moving them inwards. Outline the old position to see if they actually move. Tap them w a hammer a little.
Next step is to buy the f150 strikers.
I have an 03 Crew Cab with the same issue on the driver's door. I have checked the latch but it doesn't move when screws are loosened. Curious to hear your solution.
My extended cab rattles like crazy, but it is because they have no B pillars. The suicide doors serve that purpose and since they aren't stationary, they tend to rattle.

That's what my previous truck had as well. I just lived with it. Now I have the crewcab and they still rattle.. ! You would think Ford got that figured out but. no...
How come? Is it that the rubber gaskets are not hollow? I would think stopping the rubber gasket from collapsing a bit would help any year?
They are hollow but have a 2nd outside hollow layer. They don't really collapse so adding the tubing doesn't do much. I tried on mine and it made no difference. What helps is to to move the strikers as much in as possible. Even then it won't always fix it. Tried that too, fixed one door but left 3 others still noisy. Ultimate solution is the f150 strikers that have the rubber bumper in them.
