so just got my elm unit to look at whats going on, i came up with 5 codes!
B1352 ignition key in circuit fault ?
p3080 glow plug control relay ( will have to replace it before winter
p0478 and p0470, exhaust pcv exhaust back pressure sensor circuit?
p1211 injector control pressure higher /lower then desired ?
Thanks in advance!
Any insight would be appreciated
Key in ignition, does your truck ding, ding, ding when the door is open and key is in the ignition?
walleye yes it does ding ding ding with key in the ignition,
Glow plug relay? I don't think that's a readable thing.
I didn't either, maybe it is seeing a short, i will check that out
Exhaust back pressure circuit, try cleaning the EBP tube and sensor.
hmm will have to recearch where that is
ICP high/low, mine has that all the time, is your PCM chipped?
Not that i am aware of, but who knows before i got the truck
to answer the other question, my engine light comes on while i am driving , then goes off then comes on again, seemingly in and out of 3rd gear. that's why i wanted to see what was going on, was expecting a tranny code!
When the engine light comes and goes is it after heavy foot and take a minute or two to go out? And did you clear the codes and see what comes back?
happens when i am accelerating on the freeway, so yes heavy on the pedal to get up to speed. then will go off as i am just cruising for a bit, then comes back on as i ascend a hill, as i said before figured it was a tranny issue, but may be fuel issue hence the codes
i also have the dashcommander, that i can't seem to get to work right, i will keep messing with it, as i like that it has some other guages i can only see rpms at this point but very laggy

Sounds like overboost defuel. Do you have a boost gauge?
P1211.... check your PCM Sounds like it has either a chip installed or has been flashed. The Essenes of that code is the fueling strategy has been altered in the PCM, injectors can not supply the fuel that is being called for.
I looked at the pcm before there was no evidence of it being chipped, but i have no way of knowing if it has been flashed, cept for maybe these codes right?
i did however find that there was a pyrometer setup on it before, as it finding a hole in the exhaust manifold so did they take a tuner off of it??
You should probably find some way to read boost pressure before throwing parts at the problem though.
Thanks for the link but I agree with you I need in install a gauge or get dash commander to work I am not expecting perfection but it would be helpful, anyone have useful experience with dash commander? I am read the manual now
My truck is live tuned and I had to learn about this after I bought it, it sounds like yours is too. What is in place of where the pyrometer probe used to be? I have AE, which is a thing of yore, today they use ForScan or TorquePro. It would be telling if you could graph a run to be analyzed. If you are tuned in any way it would be best if you had a pyrometer in there to monitor EGT's.

when and if you get it to work compare your MAP to the Baro. if they are not tthe same you likely have a flashed PCM.
( if they are the same you may still have a flashed PCM but the altered MAP reading is a common programming trick )
