It is from a 67 truck, and I would assume that a PS pump is a PS pump, so if it mounts to your motor, I would think it will work. I am sure that fittings were all standardized back then too.
Thanks but after I made the post its not a pump its the gear box. As of right now Mine dont have power steering so i was asking if this would work.
Thanks
Hmm, barry is online, and I think that he will chime in soon. I am pretty sure that the 4x4s had different boxes, has a tutorial on installing PS on a 2x4, I will check if he mentions the 4x4s.
I suppose you could make anything "work" with enough ingenuity and tenacity buy for a bolt on swap you will need the 76-79 F-150 4x4 steering box. It may not have came out until 77 but I thought it was on the first F-150 which was 76.
Wait a minute! Didn't we go through this here a month or so ago? I remember summitting a tech article on the 4x4 ps conversion but it hasn't made it to the board yet. Someone here must have it.
Thank you very much BB right now im building my 390 to put in this truck. So I thought while I have the engine and trans out I would try to give it some power steering. Thanks to everyone that helped
Mav4804,I did a power steering swap on my 71 F-100 4x4 and it works very well.I have been running it for 3 years now without any problems.I wrote an article on how I did it and sent it to FTE.Ken said it would be a while until he gets it in the Tech Section. If you want the article leave your e-mail address in my inmail and I will send you a download of the article.
"bowties in the rearview mirror"
Nod, My rig is an f250 4x4. I don't know what the differences are between the f100 and f250 but I'd sure like to see that article. Would you mind emailing it to me?
