Howdy, so I’ve been working on a project build the last while and it’s starting to take off and wanted to post it here’s beings it’s made solely of Ford parts and some custom fab. Using the frame of a 2005 Expediton, the motor out of a 1986 F-150 that I’m going to convert to sniper EFI and turbo it later down the road and a ZF5-47 out of a 1996 F-350 w/ 11” clutch disc. Custom roll cage with sheet metal body styles after the VW thing with a 4-5’ bed. Bolted into chassis and ready to be fired up. Painted pic passengers side. Painted drivers side. Transmission crossmember moved. Spare block and tranny used to fit up and build motor pointing points piece by piece. Passenger side mounting point complete. Passenger side. Custom intake. Needs rework as the exhaust is running into alternator and I’m changing the intake setup a bit. Drivers side mounting point. Drivers side.
I like that 300 in there! You might get better power from an older non-EFI head, as I've read they don't work as well with a carb. Not sure which head the Sniper setup would favor, but it's something to think about if you have access to an older head and valve cover.

Yeah I’m sticking with the carbed head. I have a spare motor(1984) that’s been disassembled and ready for a rebuild. I built the current 300 from zero knowledge, now everything I learned I want to build one for power later down the road and swap it in place of the current 300. The EFI I am talking about is Holley’s Sniper EFI self learning carb. But all that will be later down the road as I need to get the thing built completely and road worthy first.
Me as well----wouldn't change that for much of anything else. I do have a living separately who loves doing "guy things--- if/when there's a vehicle chore to do she's pretty much all in. Over our time together she's learned to change her own oil, check fluid levels, check tire air pressure. With that info she's not likely to get snookered by any vehicle repair shops. Plus I don't have to answer to anyone where or how I spend my free time.
Will enjoy seeing more of this project as it progresses!

Thats fun you get to show her the ropes and she’s excited about learning! The free time is very nice and quite helpful to be able to work on it consistently! After this I want to build my own house and maybe/hopefully by then I’ll have a wife and she won’t mind me working on the building she’s going to live in!😂

Best of luck on that---I sincerely hope she comes along---after this build though!
Got my radiator mounted this weekend and started building my battery box. Taking longer than planned. 😡 Radiator mounted. Another radiator mount. A semi better view of the chassis all set.
Power steering plumbing. Here’s hope to these compression fittings working. 🤞🏻 Almost made a boo boo on this and was about to mount the plumbing solid and it wasn’t until after I had cut my piece of steel tubing wrong did it dawn on me that I needed movement to tension the power steering belt. Power steering cooler mounted. Another angle of power steering cooler. Fuel line bracket. Another angle of fuel line bracket.
