Throttle position sensor

I ran diagnostic on my truck and got the code for a throttle position sensor, the truck was running very weak when put into gear like backing in and out of parking spaces the engine would stall out multiple times. I replaced the tps and now I I am idling at a very high rpm and when I try to put t it in gear everything bucks, any ideas as to adjustment I can make?

more truck info, year, model, motor, trans, what was idle before you replaced tps, what is idle now? what was actual code?

5.8, automatic, 4x4

The idle was weak before changing, I unplugged the new tps and the idle came down remarkably. Code was 0122 tps

This is correct, it is very very easy to set these up wrong.

Did you disconnect the battery? When changing sensors, known bad sensors, you should do this so that the PCM can learn new idle/driving strategy.

If you didn't, then the PCM is still using old values learned from erroneous sensor data.
