windshield molding
HI. I've got a '78 F250 4x2. I recently replaced the windshield, and when putting it back in, the chrome molding that is in the center began to crack and break. This center molding is important in that it works as a lock to seal the rubber to the glass and body. Anyone have any idea where to get it? (As well as a tool to put it in with) Any help is much appreciated.

Any shop that sells windshields should be able to get the moulding, it's called a lock strip. It comes in chrome or black and is the same as used in Chevy pickups from 73 to 87. Costs about 15 20 bucks and comes in a roll. Hang on to your corner pieces so you can use them again. They are made of aluminun and can be bent easily. A lockstrip tool can be purchased at about any auto parts store. Use plenty of soapy water or glass cleaner as a lubricant and the job will go a lot easier. Hand cleaner works good too but it is kinda messy.
