Tailgate Rattle
I have had the tailgate off my 96 several times when I'm loading the bed and using a drive on ramp. I believe I have lost a bushing of some sort. I'm guessing it is probably a plastic teflon type sleeve that fits inside the tailgate journals, that allows it to rotate easily as well as tighten up the large tolerance that exist between the journal and the stud the the tailgate rotates on. I normally take the tailgate and set it on end vertically inside the garage or some structure. If that part does exist, I have probably knocked it out and lost it when I have removed it. Now she rattle and shimmys quite a bit.
I can't find any reference material on line that might offer that might address if the part exists, if so what the part number is and who has it.
If anyone is familiar with this part or the problem, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks in advance.

I went to my local Jobber and looked at Dorman parts. They are so darn thin, It might be better to use the bubble pack they come in. So I followed Bruce W'S idea only I fashioned a spacer out of EPDM roofing rubber. They are out of sight and it works really well. Its locked in and doesn't rattle. It works and will last a lot longer than I think the Dorman parts would last. Thanks Bruce.
