Amber fog lights

I've been considering these https://www.rigidindustries.com/d-se...ir-504814.html fog lights from Rigid industries. DOT approved so can be run all the time with headlights, fit nice in the factory locations, and more than double the lumen output of the stock halogen fogs. Does anyone have experience with these? Any recommendation on the best place to purchase? Seems like no matter where I look, the pricing is the same.

Bluehammer, as for the pricing gig, I can tell you this, a long time ago, I worked for airaid in Phoenix. It's where I heard the phrase "MAP Pricing for Dealers". MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price, and if you're gonna sell Airaid product, you sign an agreement that you wont go below MAP. Airaid had a staff randomly looking for Dealers that were selling below MAP, and when caught, if it was bad enough, Dealer status and Product was pulled.

I'd suggest Googling it and see what pops up. Compare price against free shipping, or no sales taxes, depending on where its shipping out of. With it being Father's Day weekend, somebody is offering free SOMETHING to get you to pull the trigger

Slider357, MAP makes sense now. Didn't think of that, but I run in to the same thing when purchasing Festool products for the work I do. I'll look in to Stage3, but haven't really dealt with many online vendors of truck stuff. After reading through the thread about LED headlight replacements and some of the frustrations with HeadlightRevolution, just figured I'd inquire about a reliable source that ships in a reasonable amount of time.

Also any experience or input regarding amber fogs in general would be appreciated. I'm looking at adding these and a 30 or 40 inch lightbar by either cutting the lower part of the grill or using the NFab light bar mount.

I have a pair of Rigid D2 Dually lights in the driving pattern, white. I use the Rigid amber lens covers and keep them clipped on nearly all the time. While they may not be QUITE the same as actual amber LED's, I'm very happy with the performance and the lens covers serve to protect the actual lights from road debris. If I need extra light beyond the ambers I can always pull the covers off and the lights are pure white and pack quite a punch! I'd consider that route.

I'm running two pairs of Baja Designs Squadron Pro's in a set of dual fog light brackets from KD Fabworks. They aren't DOT approved, but bright AF @ 4,900 lumens each. I get flashed all the time when running the white pair, but only about 10% of the time when running the ambers. The quality of the lights is awesome, and well worth the price.

Here are a few pictures.

I think I am going to buy an inexpensive 9005 yellow LED off Amazon. I don’t run the fogs unless fog.

Anyone do this?

Replaced the incandescents with a yellow 3K HID conversion kit. Only time they're used is snow covered roads and they work very well.

Come on now, you have a $65K plus Platinum SD and you want to put inexpensive/cheap yellow LED bulbs from Amazon in your vehicle?

Got a link to that kit? I get plenty of snow around here and the factory fog lights are only useful for mall crawlers.

Any other suggestions? I dont think I’ve ever even turned them on... 3000 miles now, live in the city.

Why do so many have the mindset that you have to throw silly amounts of money at these trucks? Why not swap to the good, modern LED bulbs with heatsinks to see how they perform? Sounds like a simple, elegant, and inexpensive ten-minute solution to me...

A waste IMO. I put them in my incandescent housings on my F150, and they were useless. Barely colored the road 10 feet ahead of the truck. All show, no go.

Were they 9005/9006 or the foglight size? They both can plug into the same outlet.
