I just had a brain-fart, let me know what you think. I have a 95 F150 with a 5.0L, I seen people in these and other forums say that the trucks had good lower intake manifolds (vs the Mustang lower intake). So why not leave the lower intake, and put in a performance upper intake along with bigger MAF and TB. Think it will work? Just something to talk about.

edit: oh and not only is the airbox's on the wrong side, but the throttle body obviously goes with that, the upper intakes are oposite of each others...hehe
Hey KevinT,
The 1st message didn't specify using mustang parts. There are companies that have performance parts made for the trucks. Edelbrock has upper & lower manifolds & twin throttle bodies of 56mm & 61mm. I don't see why it wouldn't work but I haven't seen any performance #s on the products, so I don't know if it would be worth it.
I did a little research and here's what I came up with. The GT-40 Intakes are reversable, if you want the Throttle Body on the driver's side simply flip the Upper Manifold around. So that solves the problem of the air box being on the driver's side instead of the passenger side like in the Mustang. However, a new problem arises in that the GT-40 does not mate with the stock lower the hole pattern is different, so if you do the upgrade you need to do the upper and lower.
