Service Engine soon
I recently replaced the positive battery cable in my 1999 7.3. Completely disconnected both battery’s and when I reconnected everything back the service engine soonlight was illuminated. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sometimes a code is tripped that will then reset itself and the CES light will come on and go off a short time later when driving around. The light most likely will go off in a short amount of time and everything will be fine. The code should be 'stored', but it should mean nothing.

We could and usually suggest to 'pull the code(s)', but a standard OBDII will not work with these trucks.
There are scan tools that can be used.
I have a 'SuperChip' installer and it is able to pull the 7.3 codes.
