Ford ranger power problem

I have a Ford Ranger 1997 that is having problem when trying to keep its idle. I have to keep pressing the gas petal down. Triied changing the gas filter, but did not help. Any idea out there.

Try cleaning your IAC valve. The PCM uses this valve to control
the idle speed under different temperature & load conditions.
