My 1995 f250 with 7.5 e4od acted up today. Yesterday I took it on a 3 hour round trip to get a trailer.usually I do not drive much (maybe about 100 miles a week tops) so this was the longest the truck has run in awhile. Truck did fine but on my way home I went to climb a steep hill and thought I heard a misfire. I noticed I was low on gas on the front tank so I switched to the rear and it was fine the rest of the way home which was only maybe 10 miles. I did the whole trip on the front tank til then. I didn't drive again til this morning. I drove 30 minutes away from home and right before I got to my destination it acted like it was running out of gas. I parked it and it sat for maybe 2 hours. Then on my 30 minute drive home it did fine until I stopped at a store a few minutes from home. Shortly after I left the store it began misfiring while accelerating onto the highway and continued to misfire for about a mile then leveled right out.rhe truck never stalled. So I ran codes with a reader once I got home. KEOR I got 111 and 172. KOEO I got 111 and 542 came up in memory. I cleared the codes and let it run for a bit.didnt drive it though.no codes now. Question is, where should I start? Possible fuel pump failure? What wires am I supposed to check? I plan to fill the front tank and test it out on that tank. I haven't replaced pumps in the 4 years I've had this truck.only the rear tank has been replaced. Pumps could be original for all I know and the truck has 185xxx miles. Also the trailer I pulled was very light.its an old Ford pickup bed on half an f150 frame.it was empty and I couldn't feel it behind me.i bought it for the bed since mine rusted. Truck runs great besides the random misfire. Thanks in advance! Any help would be appreciated
