Morning Ken. What happened at work today?

 

Nothing happened at "work"...the staff got news that one of their favorite long term patients passed away on Weekend Eve. She was an absolute sweetheart...85 years old or so...a patient for about 15 years. She hed been going there longer than any of the staff had been employed there...except for the Medical Director. Many of the girls were shedding some tears.

 

That is sad to hear Ken.

 

Yepper...I sat next to her for about 6 months...like I said an absolute sweetheart. She'll be missed by all.

 

Sounds like she will be Ken.

Not too bad Ken. Watching the city dig up some manhole covers so they can be replaced before they start repaving a main road right in front of the campus.

 

Are they actually replacing them...or just raising them to account for the new blacktop???

 

OK boys...lunch is done...now...onto the morning paper. Peace.

 

They pulled them and the mounting rings out and just dropped new mounting rings in the holes.

 

That is so sad to hear.

 

RIP 85 YO Sweetheart !

Ken, Peaches 'n Cream corn is just another name for most any white with yellow on the same cob..... I've heard several but like this name the best. It's also usually extra sweet.

 

Yeah...once we found out it was rather somber on the treatment floor. Unfortunately the lady who is now the senior patient has been experiencing some other health issues as well...she's been in the hospital for a week+. Her family are old customers of mine...sold them a half dozen or so trucks.

She definitely was...always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Her husband of 64 years is devastated.

I guess Peaches 'n Cream would be similar to Butter and Sugar...super sweet picked at the perfect time. The corn we had Sunday was plain old yellow...grilling it brought out the sweetness.

 

Sorry you lost a friend Ken..
