OOps!!

I just finished going in to replace my egr cooler and oil cooler and was patting myself on the back for finishing the job with no left over bolts or nuts. The truck started easily after priming a while and was running very smoothly. I pulled out of the garage to let it idle a while and then I saw IT! There on the floor was the round metal exhaust gasket that should have been between the egr cooler and the y-pipe. Not really wanting to go all the way back to pulling the intake manifold, I was wondering if it is reasonable to try to unbolt the passenger side of the y-pipe, pull it away and slip that #!**# gasket back in where it belongs?

You might be able to loosen the up-pipe bolts(both sides) and pull the collector off the turbo to get enough room to slip the gasket back in.

Are you sure it's not the gasket that goes in the up pipe? Please forgive if it"s a stupid question.
The reason I ask Is cause my 03' doesn't have a gasket in the egr connection.

Thanks Byrd.Dog. I took out both bottom up-pipe bolts, loosened the exhaust manifold bolts and had enough play to get the gasket back in!

I'm sure about that because the up-pipe was never disconnected, the intake manifold just pulled out to the front along with the egr cooler to get to the oil cooler.
