Ten months old, today I passed 3K miles

Is it time for my initial dealer service? or can I wait till after my next camping trip - which'll likely bring me up to 35/ 3600 miles, 11 months.
Or can I even wait until 12 months - at maybe 4K - 4200 miles?

In explanation it is mostly all pulling my 16K fifth.

Next: is an oil change adequate - or should I allow further services?
Nope, I won't do it myself; those techs need to eat and for $100 I'm no longer inclined to get underneath it; and if I'm lucky they'll even wash it.

Can't hurt to do it now, or wait. I don't think any harm will come of it. Have you been draining the fuel/water separator?

It's early but since this is the initial change, I would have it changed, confirm things are good, hook up and go without truck maintenance on your mind. After this, follow the IOLM or 1 year.

I've been getting my oil changed at 5 to 6K mile intervals. I'd wait until after the camping trip and get some fresh oil in. Factory fill is 10W-30 but I changed to 15W-40 Motocraft which is probably better for towing in hot temps. My '17 is a little over 2 yrs old and has close to 22K miles on it with zero problems so far. Probably over 5K miles towing our 5th wheel in that mileage. Dealer has a $99 special on changing diesel engine oil and filter plus an inspection so I'm not fooling with it myself being close to 72 yrs old!!
