I'm getting a poor charge indicated on the dash gauge as well as charge light. Alternator has been checked, supposedly good, I've replaced all the battery cables(ground, hot to sol., and sol. to starter), and I've recently replaced the starter solenoid. The only thing left that I haven't checked is the battery, what do you guys think.
Year and other info would be helpful.
But, if you have had your alt. checked by someyone who should be flipping burgers at a a fast food resturaunt. (Autozone)
You should get your battery checked out. They should use a hydrometer and check the gravity of each of the 6 cells. You could have a bad cell, or 2, or more or the battery could be partly shorted.
Might be time for a new battery.
Good luck
I had a problem today driving down the road and all power went off---walked 2 miles back home got back with jumper cables the jumper cables weren't doing the trick, so I brushed the ends together, and battery was hot----found a little wire with a fuseable link in it that had burned off at the soelenoid twisted it back together and got it home think the alternator voltage regulator is hung up smoking a little so now to replace that
