Why, oh Why????

Why, oh why did Ford make wiper pivots out of pot metal??? I thought today I would FINALLY be able to convert Grover to electric wipers (from vacuum) thanks to a used wiper set-up I bought at Pigeon Forge, and I stripped the %#*@!! things out trying to mount them to the cowl.

No, I never got a chance to over torque anything, in case you are wondering.

Now I'm all bummed out.

new pivots are not that expensive at mid-fifty.
but it does suck buying something you already had.

grover,

just a thought... how about a heli coil?

or filling the hole with JB weld or liquid metal then drill it and run a tap thru it?
