Its a 89 351w.....the part is located on the intake just above the water outlet. It has a temp sensor on it and has a tube that leads to the heater hose and a smaller tube that runs to another part of the cooling system. Does it have a name and does anyone happen to know what one will cost...need to replace mine, rust has rotted a hole through the tube part.....Thanks in advance............Rod
bro ,i think you mean the colant temp sensor. is it mounted on some kind of bolt looking thing that threads into the engine and has branches that branch of to diferent hoses? if yes it costs less than $50 and i advise you to see your ford dealership cause the auto parts stores only have ones made from plastic which wont give accurate readings, u'r computer will read it as to high .you need the brass type. i had this problem with the plastic sensor till i got the brass one. goodluck.
thanks man....my sensor is still good...the part that branches off is rotted...i'll skip the trip to the parts store and head straight to the dealer. I kinda figured it looked like an uncommon part that they wouldn't have.............thanks
I think you are talking about the coolant take off for the heater system. The ECT sensor is mounted to the top of it. I suggest getting a new one from the junk yard.
yes junk yard .i thought he needed a sensor.i think it's called a vacum tree or so ,has a bolt head on top and a copper branche system with hoses attached.
junk yards the best place for that.
