Expedition questions
hey..i jus recently sold my prelude and now im in the market for an expedition. im looking at the 99 expedition XLT and was wondeirng what are some common problems that may occur with the expedition. any help would be appreciatted. thanks

If you want to get the 5.4L engine, make sure that the build date is after July. You can check this out on the driver's door on the white sticker. Ford had used the smaller 235hp engine until about July when they switched to the new and improved 260hp engine. Also, I have a 99 Eddie Bauer 5.4L 4x4that I bought with 62K miles onit and I needed to get new brakes, shocks and front rotors after I bought it. I guess the factory shocks are not very good. Other than that, I have been very pleased with my Expy. I used to own a 97 Eddie Bauer 5.4L 4x4 and loved that expy. as well. If I had to do it all over again, I might have looked for a '00 expy, because some of the posts I have read say that the '00 expy's engines were fixed from the '99 flaws (head gasket leak, etc.) Hope this helps!.. thanks for the info...ive been doing my research and most customer reviews have been good except for a few and the negative ones really got me thinkin. but i really want one so if ayone else has more info please post..thanks
