Smile 2019 Ranger

We just got a call from the dealer that our Ranger is in Birmingham hopefully we may get it by the end of the week.
When we ordered it the dealer said 1st week of June. The local railhead is across town in New Orleans east where all the inbound vehicles end up.

Little Ranger.

The 68 is almost 10” wider than the 19. The main thing is I can keep them all in the garage. I let the wife drive it home this time from the dealership. Of course she has already claimed it.
The dealership people really got a kick of our photo shoot.

Thanks for posting this great photo, Kenny! Hope you enjoy both of those trucks for a long time to come. It is definitely clear that pickup trucks have gotten taller and longer over the years. I bought a '78 F100 short bed flareside brand new, and it was so small and low compared to the new stuff. You didn't need a ladder to load stuff into the bed...

Congrats to you (and your wife) on the new ride--it was built about 30 miles from my home in the Detroit area. I have personal reasons for wanting the Ranger and Bronco to do well--they keep a number of my UAW homies at work. (I bought my wife a new '86 Escort GT built in that same Wayne, MI plant the year after we were married.)

George

2019 Ranger

Thanks for the kind words George. The 68 was purchased with money sent home when the ship was on deployment to Vietnam Nam. $2600.00. The new Ranger, $40,000.00
The wife and I started dating 5 days before the 68 was purchased. The 68 was ordered so that when I was home on leave it was delivered. It then went to San Diego until I was discharged in 69. We got married in 70.
I was told that the Rangers were supposed to be built in one of the Carolinas back in 16 while we toured the Greenville Village in Dearborn. That would have been bad news for your friends. Looks like Ford made a good choice to keep it in Michigan.

Wow! what a contrast. I used to have a '67 F100 Flareside in light blue. I miss it all the time and wish I never sold it. It was all original paint, seat, floor mat etc.
