I got an e-mail about a product called Fuel Saver Pro that makes some pretty lofty claims about improved gas mileage (web site is http://www.avnzk.org/default.asp?axel=1465). I'm inclined to blow it off as "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is", but if any of you out there own it, and swear by it, then I'd be tempted. I live in California, where they refine the damn gas that my V-10 guzzles, but still charge me more than the rest of the country for it, so if there IS an aftermarket product that actually works, and can improve my gas mileage, I'd be interested.
Save your money. That thing looks like the magnetic fuel saver I saw a while back here. If this thing really worked then all vehicle manufacturers would use it.
That is nothing but the magnetic deals. It is 'supposed' to cause a magnetic field that breaks up the molecules in fuel to make them burn more throroughly and you get better mileage. It is kind of like the Tornado - sounds good in theory at 2:00am on an infomercial, but they are a waste of time and money...
Well the question is "what in gasoline would be magnetic?" gasoline is organic, and shouldn't have any metals in it at all. A magnetic field would do absolutely nothing to it.
Don;t sweat it man. I fell victim to the Tornado ads one 2:00 a.m. Bought it for sixty dollars. An ugly and expensive paperweight. I could have made one out of sheetmetal at my shop, not that it would have done any good anyways.
