When I do an oil change, 14 qts come out, and 14 go in, though the system actually holds more than that. Some is held in the HPOP system.
You didn't state what body style your truck is, and I believe the fuel tanks are different on different styles, but I'll give you the info from my crewcab. The owner's manual states the front tank to be 19.0 gallons, and the rear to be 18.7. The truth is, the front holds 22.0 gallons, and the rear 21.0. I have drained each, and refilled to the top of the filler neck, and that's what I've gotten every time.
The radiator on your 96 is different than on my '95, so someone else will have to help you out on the cooling system capacity.
