Crew or Super Cab because of the back panel. Regular cab would have just been open and springs visible. I think they only put the anti tip forward latch on the later 1977-1979 models. Obviously it's been reupholstered.
That looks like the bench in my 77, however not original to the truck. Mine is out of a later model, because it has the plug for the seat belt lock when you slam on the brakes. We all know that was not an option in 77. My father had a 1990 F350 CC Lariat dually with the same type of bench as well, origianl to the truck, the upholstery other than the color looks close, but it had an ashtray on the back.
The crew benches have a fixed arm (no tilt) and the super cabs are split down the middle...
Every 78/78 bench I have seen has a plastic trim piece over the arm, this one is missing the screw holes to mount that part.
(Maybe the low trim level trucks had the arms exposed...)
My guess is this is a 73-76 or so bench that has been recovered.

My 78 regular cab (Ranger trim with the Explorer package) has a panel over the back of the seat. It’s not part of the upholstery like SixtyFour’s seat though, it’s a hardboard sheet like what the headliner’s made out of.
The side arms and tilt hook assembly look just like mine, though, as does the seat position adjusting lever. Maybe it’s out of a late model dentside with some custom upholstery? I’m not familiar with how earlier models’ seats look, maybe they’re the same as well.

Ah you know that seat belts locks due to the inertia reel design, in the reel and NOT the elec plug. That elec plug is more than likely for the seat belt warning buzzer and dash light. Is in mine anyway.
X2 on all other said, about SC and Bronco's (with a bench) having a split folder bench. And back panel is a CC deal. It looks like a 73-79 to me.
Having the back panel makes one think it's a Crew Cab seat but like Squeezer said the Crew Cab had fixed arms with no tilt forward feature(makes sense). So the back panel was more than likely just added when it was reupholstered earlier in its life. It's definitely a 73-79 but I still think it's later(78-79ish) due to the latch that holds the seat from automatically folding forward.

Theres usually a little bit of a tang in this area.
Will get a shot of mine when I get home
Ah ok - whats it for? I assume the PO cut it so it fits against the gas tank better. As it is i have to slide the seat forward to be able to flip the seat back forward.
Just ergonomics would be my guess. You place your hand under the latch and the detent is where your finger pressure lifts it up. I know that some of the earlier models didn't even have the catch. Probably the ones with the in-cab tank. I never put much thought as to why some did and some did not but, now it makes sense. A lot of the crew cabs Ive seen had the seat back locked down and the latch wasn't present, likely because there's no real need to tilt it when there is 4 doors.
