I mounted mne on the driver's side fender. You want to mount it somewhere away from the engine heat where there is plenty of air circulation. I thought about mounting the unit inside the cab like the race cars, but it works fine on the fender well. Make sure you use a heavy gauge wire to run to the battery from the MSD box.
I mounted it on the passenger's side wheel well (see pictures on my webpage below). I somehow didn't find a place on the driver's side (was my first oprion - so close to the coil).
Note that I had to hook the thing up to the battery directly for some strange reason. The engine would stutter and stall if I didn't do that.
Mines mounted in the same place, and I too had to hook directly to the battery. I'm tempted to run a relay setup on its own, incase something could happen.
