Stake bed Tail light Brackets

I ordered a LH tail light bracket from Reggi at KC obsolete Parts. I had bought the last RH bracket from him last year for my truck, so I made a RH bracket to match the LH one I just got from Reggi. These will be going to Nelson in Florida for his '50 F5 M-H.

Thanks, Mark

Thanks Abe. Here is the photo I intended to post as my second photo. You can see the part # on the factory bracket.

Thanks again, Mark

That is a thing of beauty! There's a market for those if you felt like making more for sale.

My thoughts on that would be the market isn't that big, and the mark up would be tremendous. Much better to self market to the buyers through the forums like this, keep the price as low as possible to peak the interest and demand, and also keep the profits, imho.

I don't believe that I can make these brackets cheap enough to sell to a retailer like Carpenter or Mid Fifty. Their mark up would probably make them prohibitively expensive. I am going to check with the steel supplier that I used to use and see what it would cost to have them laser cut the bracket mounting flange and the light mounting flange. Having those two pieces laser cut would cut my labor cost almost in half. Either the LH or the RH bracket could be made from the same components.

That is amazing craftsmanship! I had one for the right side of Betsy, and finally found one for the left side from a company that had just one.

I called the material unobtainium after that, but you just made that statement obsolete. Absolutely perfect!

I received a quote from my steel supplier today for the materials for the light brackets. It looks like a finished bracket ready to ship would be about $50. I could make RH or LH brackets from the same components. I don't know if $50 is a fair price or if there is even any interest in these brackets.
Thanks, Mark
