Hello all, I recently acquired a neat '62 F100 Shorty...… she's in pretty good overall shape, great bones, especially for a 57 year old truck.... she's a reliable daily driver as is, and I'm sorting out a few minor issues but the one that has me puzzled is the turn signals.... bulbs all work, new flasher makes no difference... suspecting maybe the column switch? Any insight as to what's usually wrong with these and the best way to attack it? Thanks so much! Dave
...Explain what it's doing or not doing....one side not flashing, both sides not flashing...brake lights working or not?? That will help those here to give troubleshooting advice.
Sure, neither side is flashing or lighting up when you move the lever. All bulbs work ,(park, taillights, brake).. The brake lights work fine. New flasher made no difference.
It probably is the column switch, although the brake lights go through it, too. But my 66 also had wiring problems caused by some previous owner re-wiring the brake lights and signals.

Fordification has a 66 wiriing diagram, it may be similar to yours:
1965/66 wiring diagram is not similar.
1961/62 F100/250 2WD uses a unique T/S switch (13341) that has a separate cancelling cam (13304).
The switch and cancelling cam were also used on 1960/62 Falcon/Comet.
Dave,
I just went through this same problem. The folks on this forum are more than willing to help if you give them enough info. There are a few possible fixes for your problem.
1. Check all grounding points
2. Remove steering wheel and change out turn signal switch and cancelling cam. Repro parts are available but I recommend NOS parts. I was able to find both items on eBay without too much trouble. It's a waste of time to troubleshoot each part. These items are going on 60 years old. Replace them and move on. But don't throw anything away.
3. Take time to clean the gunk out of the area where the switch rests and make sure cam moves freely.
4. Make sure all bullet connections are sound. Use dielectric grease.
5. Take pictures as you go. It's amazing how quickly you can forget when it's time to put it back together.
Do a search of my username. I spent a lot of time on electrical and other issues this season. I bet you will encounter some of these on your truck.
Much thanks to the replies above..... as it's the only lighting issue on this truck, I expect it's the switch/cam...… even all the dash gauges work! I'll look for a source for those parts..I guess an alternative route would be a column mounted universal turn signal switch....thanks, all,Dave
