I have a 2018 F350 CCLB Dually, w/9500 miles. Yesterday as I was looking to add some lighting to the steps, I noticed that there is corrosion around the valve stem on the left front wheel (Aluminium) As I looked at the others, all of them have it to the point of the clear coat bubbling/lifting, no issues with pressure loss. I have to go to my dealer for them to take pics to submit to Ford for approval. They told me they have to take 3 specific pics of each wheel. I'll post up some pics later. Anyone else have this other than the galvanic corrosion w/valve stem failure?
Mine are badly corroded for sure which is part of the pressure loss issue. If you aren't losing air pressure now, you soon will be. If you can get Ford to replace the wheels and valve stems under warranty you definitely should. It's only going to get worse.

I agree. I would think that less than 1 year of ownership (Bought in July 2018) and 9500 miles, they should be covering. The dealer took their series of pics for Ford and said I should have an answer later today or tomorrow.
Where about in WV are you? We have family in Valley Head, WV and are there every month .
Just got a call from the dealer saying that all 4 were approved by Ford to be replaced. Now just have to wait for them to come in. Also asked if they are going to be installing the latest version of valve stem to rectify the galvanic corrosion, they said yes, they are. Good!! I don't want to have to get new wheels in 9 more months.
What you have is galvanic corrosion. Unless Ford has changed the composition of their valve stems it will happen again in 6 to 18 months. Aluminum wheels and nickel plated brass stems. There a service bulletin about changing to high pressure rubber valve stems. I think the ones they are changing to are too flimsy. I think they need to have a rubber valve stem with brass inside stem like I have on my trailer. In this case the nickel is the noble metal and aluminum is the anode. It corrodes faster. This has been an ongoing problem for aluminum wheels for a few years now. Hopefully it will be solved soon or Ford will be replacing wheels for the next few years.

Glad to see Ford is doing the right thing for you. Valley Head is over near Snowshoe and Green Bank. If you haven't done it yet, spend a day at Green Bank, very interesting place. We live near Point Pleasant along the Kanawha River. All the way on the western edge of the state.

I have posted pictures and part numbers (more than once) of the correct metal valve stems that Ford issued their latest TSB for in this matter. High pressure rubber valve stems are no longer the preferred replacement parts.
Same thing for me. Ford replaced 4 rims last year and installed rubber stems. Couples of months did go by and here we go again , same problem and still air loss. Theses wheels are plain garbage..

Very interesting that you got galvanic corrosion with rubber valve stems. I have to agree that these wheels are more trouble than they are worth. I’ve been seriously considering switching to XLT wheels.
