It kind of looks like the case is tucked into the frame rail, way to high. When it comes down to where it belongs it will hit the lower flange? I'm pretty sure I'm going with the 205, just need to notch the adapter for the shifter. Searching the web it seems the 205 was the best solution from the guys with 78-79 Broncos. The 205 may have a driveshaft clearance issue though with the E4OD. I've got an AOD so I think I'm OK there.

Have you verified the transmission center is offset to the passenger side the same amount as the center line of the motor? Basically making sure the motor and transmission are parallel with the frame rails. If not that might help or hurt your clearance. If you use poly mounts I think a tight clearance on the lower flange would be ok since the motor will torque sway from the lower frame rails when put under load.
That intake looks tough! Look forward to seeing how it all together.

He has the TC in and is making a mounting bracket from the donor truck. You are correct, The TC is tucked up in and rotated up on the drivers side 10-15 degrees to get the clearance. Hope to have the Tc finalized by next week with drive lines in. He has done this with a couple other builds so I am confident he will make it work.

No, but the spot is still molded into the case. He said he can drill it out and make the mechanical speedo work.

Yeah, got a buddy that “supervises” every so often and he likes to leave his mark.
Got it the floor pan welded in from where the heater core leaked. The rest is just surface rust and will be cleaned up before the sound deadner, foam and carpet go down.
The bottom side looks much better as far as the rust.
Also got the transfer case case in and mounted and hooked up the drive shafts.
Up next is installing the new fuel tank, the nostalgic air ac and finish up the wiring harness. Maybe able to fire it up in the next week.
