Cam it up

I am considering installing a cam in my 93 4.9. 70,000 kilometers
I use the truck for hauling and towing fairly heavy loads.
Have done some stuff but would like some more CAM power.
SUGGESTIONS AND OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
BRAIN BOX? injectors? thanx for helping

Check the ford six site - there's a good recent post with lots of discussion and several links to Crane, Crower, Isky etc.

just did mine about a month ago, i used a crane power max truck cam. nice increase in power. it has a rough idle (dont know if its a vacuum leak or the cam) but it sure woke the 300 up.

I installed a Comp cams 260H in my 300 and haven't been able to get the valve train noise under control. I've tried 2 sets of lifters and new springs and adjustable rockers and I'm confident the noise is coming from the valve slamming back on their seats and not the lifters but today it comes out and a stock cam goes in. It was advertised as a fairly low rpm cam but it doesn't really get with it until about 3000 rpm then it flies - but the noise!!
