I used to have one of these on my Bronco.

I wrap my Headers and Saturate them with Ceramic Paint. You can grab the Headers bare Handed and it's unbelievable how much the Temp is reduced under the Hood.
Let me get this correct. You wrap your headers with heat wrap & then saturate the wrap with ceramic paint, is this correct? Or did you coat your headers with ceramic paint & then wrap them with heat wrap tap? I sure would like to reduce the heat from my headers as the starter is real close to them on a 300 motor.

I was thinking about how that would work, since they say the wrap alone can cause premature rusting out of your headers. Looks like the Ceramic paint would keep the moisture out anyone have any experience with how this works?
Your Absolutely correct they would hold Moisture, That's why I saturate them, Seals them Up. And as Stated under the Hood Temp is unbelievable. Ceramic Paint alone with out Wrap is a Waste of Time and A Sales Gimmick. The Insulation Quality you get with the Wrap will never be Matched with Ceramic Coating alone, Put your Temp Gun to It and you will see. Wet the Wrap with water and install tightly, let dry for a couple Days and then Soak the Hell out of them with Ceramic Header Paint. You could not get Moister in them for Hell.

I think you are talking about when they are not installed on the truck.
I think the operating theory is that the reflective surface sill prevent heat from soaking into the windings of the starter in the first place.
Yes, I understand that idea is to keep the heat out. But I guess I was thinking the starter itself would also generate heat and would be blocked from any air flow.

I can't use this as I am replacing my starter with one of the newer mini starters.

I'd like to do this, but mine are already installed.
