May Chat Thread

Welcome to May!!
The weather is finally nicer and the pool water is getting warmer!! My son keeps wanting to go swimming but the water has to get a little bit warmer. I got my trailer tire delivered yesterday and I will try to get it installed on the rim today. Just waiting on the boat starter and then I can relist it. Worked my butt off again yesterday but we got a bunch done. I've been doing the little stuff and letting the other mech work on the longer time consuming jobs.

I don't have to leave the house to spend my money Hugh, I just sit and the computer and click!

That just the stuff I have to get. Like groceries, feeding my HF addiction. I can spend money at home very well.

I was going to cut logs yesterday for the rest of the lumber for the shop here. Closest downed tree was over 500 ft away. Did a change of plans to move the sawmill. When I setup this time the tires are coming off before I drop the axle assembly. 2 bolts hold the axle on. What the did was welded the spring hangers to a piece of angle the mill frame sits on that 1 bolt each side to hold it in place.

Yay it's Friday!!
I feel like I've been 9 rounds with Mike Tyson this week.
The golf cart people we bought our cart from want me to come work for them, might do side job but I probibly would not do it full time.
The daughter started moving her stuff in with her boyfriend, we will see how long that will last. The wife acts like she is moving out of the country forever. Her boyfriend works at night and they only live 5 miles from us, I am sure she will be an almost nightly visitor for dinner.

I'm not going to do it, I have enough to keep me busy and don't need another thing on my plate.
We bought the daughter a bunch of stuff since they have nothing and then went over and helped clean up the place as it was super messy from the former renters. Still a ton of junk to get rid of but looking better already.

Glad you made that choice. It the house is that nasty make sure to get pest control for roaches. It would be better to do before they move in. The first treatment there will be dead roaches every where.

It's not dirty like that, not bugs. The last people just didn't sweep and mop, car parts in the yard. The house is 150 years old and I call it the haunted mansion. The walls are wood and have small gaps, the floors bounce from needing some support underneath, just a super old farm house that needs a ton of work. Next weekend will be moving the furniture, washer and dryer and whatever else over to her place.

I was playing with my son on the floor last night and he said : Daddy, I want to go to Disney World. I love that kid!! I pretty much have my wife talked into going back for Mickey's not so scary halloween party. We bought him a turtle sandbox on Saturday and he plays in that thing for hours at a time.

A little bit of sand, he was playing with some cars in the sand box and walked right in with them, the wife freaked because she had just got done sweeping and mopping. The mom in-law came for dinner and then we went riding in the cart, had a good time.
I don't know exactly what the deal is but it's her life.

So when will daddy get involved? When I was walking my daughter down the aisle ask her if she was sure she wanted to do it. That was 17 years ago

We have already had the daddy daughter talk, I told her I think she could do better. The marriage is on hold but they are still going to try living together. The hardest part is not going to be living together, it's the in-laws across the street. They are renting the house to them but then still want him to mow their yard, work on the farm etc like he still lives at home. He only has one day a week off and they want to keep him busy doing their work. That's going to be the real test..

I think yesterday was national complain to the John Deere service manager day. Working on golf carts full time sure looked good yesterday afternoon. Took another load of stuff over to the daughters house after work. We are taking a washer and drier over this afternoon and I am also hanging up a ceiling fan up too.

It's hump day !!
Took a washer and dryer to the daughters place after work. Tried installing a ceiling fan but I have to put in a new electrical box on the ceiling. The old box is too small and the ceiling fan mount won't mount to it. The shop is full of mowers and we should get a big parts delivery this morning. We will be busy today trying to get them all done and ready to be picked up.

How much stuff you got left to move? It is mower season.

I have all the siding up on the small shed extension. Floor joist are done for the large extension. Tommorow I true up the boards for the roof and haul off some trash. Not going to rip old roof off till we have a couple days of no rain
