Mechanic w/Integrity WANTED

My wife and I own a 1999 E450 Triton V-10 RV, (which we LIVE IN full time) and we're traveling to Alaska from Santa Clara (staying at our daughter's house). In November, at 110,000 miles, I had the plugs changed at a s**thole place in San Diego and got hosed ($900). Same coils. It ran well for a while, then I got a check engine error which was misfire on plug #1. Being a cheapskate, and enjoying doing things myself, I got a set of plugs from Amazon for $69....10 coils. After spending 4 days (honest) changing the coils, I rewarded myself with a bluetooth engine/iPhone interface. As many here can guess, I screwed up. I'm getting misfire errors, and can correct them by using the old coils and changing them for the new ones.

I need the peace of mind that I have a dependable engine for the trip to Alaska. Unfortunately, age and arthritis are rearing their ugly heads. The more I read the "scared-er" I get. I' would hate to unscrew a plug and have the realization that some of the aluminum head came with it, and now I have to get a thread-sert and hope I get the fix correct. I'd LOVE to do the job myself, but I also have to face rmy body's reality. (as those of you reading this will have to, eventually).

I'm looking for an honest, competent Ford Mechanic within driving distance of Santa Clara. "Driving Distance" is not a fixed variable, but uppermost in my mind is competence and integrity. What I'd like is a set of new plugs, gapped and installed properly, as well as new coils (which I bought from Amazon already). To those of you who know what you're doing and do your own work, this might not sound like a big deal. To me, it is. I don't want to be in Nowhere Alaska with a blown plug and 200 miles from anywhere.

I'd be willing to travel surprising distances for the peace of mind that our home will be smooth and dependable for another 124,000 miles. If you, or anyone you know is interested, please contact me.
Thanks!
