Question Oil Pressure

About a week ago my valves started to really chatter. Well the first thing I think of is oil pump problem.
I bought the truck 78 F100 about a month ago, a rebuild(351W) with about 10K on it
I hooked up the mechanical gauge today and here are my readings:
Cold Idle in park: 60 psi initially then after approx. 2 minutes down to 35psi.

Drove for approx 20 minutes: Warm idle in park:5-8psi

No tach: cruised in third at 40 I would say approx 2000rpm: 25psi.

From what I've read the pressures at cruise and cold idle are fine but my warm idle is pretty low.
Weak oil pump?
pickup screen blocked?
Bearings? I hope not.
Valve adjustment?

No valve chatter during cold idle.
valve chatter during warm idle.
reduced valve chatter during cruise.
Cooling system working properly.
I did not rebuild the engine so I don't know if the oil pump was replaced during rebuild.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

For a stock pump your cold psi is normal and your initial warm psi of 35 is normal however your 5 is not. I would check your oil pump it could be the relief valve not working properly, I had a similar problem on a new rebuilt motor first it was a oil pump relief valve then the second time they re built it it did the same thing then turned out it was one of the bearings. Try the pump first, good luck

the valves are not adjustable

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your bearings are worn and you need to rebuild your motor

i have a fresh 5.0 rollor in my 1990 F150 and i see 90 psi at 2000 rpms cold and hot it nevers drops below 40 psi at idle

I had fairly similar readings on a 302 and it was a spun bearing. My money is on that being your problem.

As to getting 90 psi cold, something doesn't add up since the pump normally bypasses at 60 psi.
