Recently purchased 2019 f-250 cant decide on brush guard. Kinda like the front end as is look wise but there are deer everywhere i live. Anyone have pics and anyone buy other brands other than ranch hand? Thanks
I bought Ranch Hand. would not do it again. The quality is very crappy. holidays in the paint and one weld wasn't completed. This was the second one. I sent the first one back. the second was worse. The installer said they were having a lot of returns on RH products.
OP, if you are worried about a deer strike, the last thing you want is a bolt on brush guard. They are made for just that,.....light brush. Been there, done that and wasted money for a false sense of protection. If you want animal strike protection, you want a full bumper replacement that has grill protection (radiator) along with optional light guards. It will add weight to the front end but is worth the money. I had a Fab Fours that I line-x'd (powder coat is garbage and WILL rust no matter the climate) on my last Duramax and had hit two deer and one turkey at over 55mph. The bumper didn't even have a scratch and got the job done. Had that been a brush guard, the outcome would have been severely different. The internet is also littered with pictures where these bumper replacements provide superior protection in accidents. I just picked up my 2019 F-250 CCLB this week and already have a Fusion bumper with defender grill upgrade on order. They should come stock.

i agree to a point, a grill gaurd will be a lot stronger than a stock bumper. My brackets are 3/16 thick, it’s pretty stout, unlike the Ranch hand 1/8 brackets. Will it survive a 55mph hit??? Don’t know, but it doesn’t cost $2k either.
My previous DDs for the past 20 yrs all sported RH grill guards. 2 dead deer and one old man in an import were impacted and I never lost a headlight. I was really disappointed in my latest RH grill guard fit and finish.
For clarification:: Texas deer are kinda puny even at 70mph and the old man was driving a Toyota
I have a Ranch Hand with the cutout for the front camera. I have been pleased with RH products for some time. Sorry, it’s a dark photo but I don’t have many.
Westin on my 2018. I had one on my 2001, it survived 17 years, took several hits and was used as a push bar too.
So a little update here. After having a Westin on my old truck for 10 plus years I added the Westin to my new truck. I installed it last October 2018, it is now July 2019 and I am seeing rust coming up under the powder coating. Pictures below.
I reached out to Westin and they quickly told me to contact the seller and deal with them. I bought it at an online dealer, contacted them and they were confused but said they would reach out to Westin. After doing some research on Westin's site it says that I will be responsible for shipping the defective product back at my expense to be covered under a warranty claim. I am waiting for a answer from the retailer but I don't feel that is fair treatment. I am in business too and if it is my fault I cover it, a repair is different. I should have read the warranty but after my success with the first one I never thought this would happen.

Reason: Update to post
Steel Craft,, the Ranch Hand factory is 30 miles away,, their ****TY
Nice looking guard thanks for the reco.
I'm ten minutes from RH in Shiner. Saw their new products in Victoria. Just sitting outside on a rack, rust was forming around the welds. Yes, no doubt most all will do that but this was a new unit, not three year old install. NOW, I understand why BTBRV has Road Armor as a new sponsor.
Fortunately for us, the deer that cross the road from our barn using the Deer-Xing........lol....j/k.....

Ranch Hand quality has gone down hill in the last 10-15 years. It's a fact that all powder coat will rust once you get a few rock chips. This is why I dislike it so much and will never mount anything on a truck that is powder coated. However, I too have seen brand new Ranch Hand bumpers that were rusting right out of the box or under the powder coat. I have also seen better welds from a high school shop class.
