I have installed strobes in my parking, tail, and back-up lights. The corner markers are too small, although the parking lights are angled, so they still show up to the sides. The head lights are so big on these trucks, that you are likely to be disappointed with strobes there. I put in a headlight flasher to fill that spot. Also have strobes in the grill and top of rear window. That all compliments the 12 strobe bar on the rally bar on the bed.
Sorry I did not mention it, but i did the search first. I just was not sure if anyone has done it since that thread.
I ordered a 6way 90watt supply from www.strobesnmore.com. I also ordered 6 clear bulbs. They should be here within the next day or two.
I still have to figure out the best placement for all of this. I have fellow volunteer fire fighters that have place the strobes in the headlights (they were not superdutys though) and they are really bright. I think they are bright because of the reflective backs. They did mention that bulb placement was the key to it.
The reason I went with a 90 watt is because i noticed on one of the vehicles that as soon as he turned on the 5/6 bulbs, the other ones dimmed. My thinking is "MORE POWER".
The common statements i am reading is that it is not a hard process, just time consuming. Also as several of you stated, drilling into the back of lenses is a little nerve racking.
If anyone has any suggestions on bulbs placement or location, please reply. Otherwise, damn the torpeedos.
Fredmez: I went to the link on your post and got nothing but a does not exist site! I am going to be putting strobes in my truck in the future, so am now getting all my imfo. together.
