Pulling engine for flexplate R&R
I found one lifting eye at the front of the engine on the manifold side in the form of a steel bracket. I pulled all of the stuff off of the top of the engine to prepare and expected to find another eye toward the back of the engine on the other side. There isn't one. Obviously I need to be able to control the engine as it's going out and back in. I'll be using a cherry picker hoist.
The Haynes says something about 7/16 18pitch eye hooks threading into the head, does that sound like the solution?
About how much does this engine weigh?

I found a large boss at the very rear bottom of the block on the driver's side, not far from the oil pressure sender. One of the bellhousing bolts threads into it, I think. There's a threaded hole running sideways into it. I'm assuming that's ok to thread a big bolt into and use to lift the engine?

Did it last night and everything worked perfectly. I used the steel bracket at the front of the engine that was bolted on by the manifold fasteners, and I got a big 1/2" x 4 1/2" bolt to thread in sideways into that boss at the bottom of the other side of the engine to balance it.
