Poor idle problem
Anyway now the engine is idling really rough. When put into gear it will idle at around 650rpm and really shakes the engine, also causes the truck to lurch repeatedly as it slows to a near stop. Reminds me of a motor with too big of a cam. I think the culprit might be my EGR patch since that is the only thing different besides the headers. I had to screw in a temp pipe fitting since Borla did not design the headers to work with the Ford threads. It is a 3/4" male/male NPT fitting with another 3/4 female to a 1" female on top of the male/male. The factory EGR flare end is just jammed into the 1" hole and wrapped with foil and a beer can, lame but it has to do until I can adapt the Ford fitting with a NPT end.
So, does anyone know if even a slight leak in the EGR at the connection to the header would cause the poor idle? No vacuum leaks on top that I can find. Just puzzled cause this thing runs real well once it is over 1000 rpm and has never idled like this until I messed with the EGR with the header install.
) it sound like the idle is too low (mine doesnt go below 800rpm that I have ever seen).
