Delete Pipe

Hi Everyone,

I am going to buy a stainless steel delete pipe. Some look almost identical but have a difference in cost of $100. Below are the 2 I was looking at. If you have any other recommendations that are better or cheaper I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

I just finished mine less than an hour ago. I bought my tuner and pipe from my local shop. I have a stainless Jamo pipe. It came in two pieces and was as nice as I pipe could be I guess.

Looking at your links, the more expensive one is stainless and that's why it is more expensive.

The aluminized would be a good option if you're not in the rust belt.

The $307.00 one seems to have an extra hanger attached to it, at least from the pictures anyway. Guess it depends on where the hangers are on your truck. I believe there are some differences between long bed vs. short bed vs. a 5th wheel hitch or no 5th wheel hitch.

Thanks everyone, I did notice the other one comes with 2 hangers. I have a 350 short bed (no 5th package). Do I really need 2 hangers? Personally because the pipe is light I dont think so. But it looks like the factory exhaust with the dpf has 2 hanger (granted that is much heaver also). Also being though I have the short bed im probably going to have to cut the delete pipe a little bit right? I think they are meant to fit the long beds as well?

Mine has one hanger, the DPF had two or 17 hangers, can't remember... I unbolted the brackets that held them in place and stored them with the DPF. You only need the one, it's well supported.

No. Buy the one for a short bed and it bolts right up. What don't you like about the Flo Pro model I posted? It's cheap, stainless, and fits.

I had to trim 2" off of mine to get it to fit properly. It was too long. But I retained the stock tip and rear portion of the exhaust. Of course you'll want to measure it first when your parts come in. I've never done something that didn't need a little persuasion.

If you look under your truck you should see a short section of pipe that connects the dpf to the tailpipe. It is my guess that this short piece of pipe makes up the difference in length between all the different truck configurations. This way the dpf and tailpipe remain the same for all the configurations. If you are just replacing the dpf with a race pipe it shouldn't matter how your truck is configured.

When I was researching pipes I called a few different places wondering why certain brands were much more expensive than others. Everyone I talked to said you are just paying for the brand name. I went with the aluminized flo pro and it is a nice pipe. The rest of the exhaust system is aluminized so I didn't see the need to go stainless on this one piece. If it prematurely rusts out I'll eat my words and grab a stainless replacement

Thanks everyone for all your help! I think I will go with the flowpro SS. That was my thought all along. I dont see how a $100 more for a pipe really makes any difference.
