I had a weeping freeze plug, took em all out and replaced them with brass plugs and indian head sealant. first heat cycle the same one leaked, so i put red RTV over it. second heat cycle it leaked again. it’s installed correctly just hammered in, flush. does brass have to go through more than 2 heat cycles? what do you think could be the cause of this? thanks. i’m lost
Don't know if it is different on your motor, versus my 302. Had a freeze plug blow out on initial startup after rebuild. Couldn't properly install it due to clearance issues. So, put in an expandable freeze plug made by dorman. No issues since then. Might check into that

I second the suggestion on the expandable rubber plug. There should be installation instructions with the plug, the ones I used many years ago said to install them dry.
