Looks to be the bolt that holds the defrosters to the dash, if that helps.

Hard to tell from a picture but these old Ford trucks had a lot of 5/16 bolts too which seem a little harder to get at the hardware store.

I can't find it in the parts books, my guess would be it's a #10 or #12 fine thread.

What is it's purpose? Does it go through the dash or cowl? Does it have a hex head on the other end? Looks like it may be a 10-32 or 12-24 machine screw, not a bolt.

3/16-32 is listed in the hardware book (headlight focusing screw). It's an unusual size, but interchangeable with 10-32.

Ok over there you got so many different sizes unf unc npd and so on it's much more easy here we got 3 4 5 6 8 10 and so on in mm. That's easy 😁

We were supposed to phase that in here in the colonies, but we prefer to remain dinosaurs. So resistant to change.

yea, those know it alls in the 70s were trying to force feed us that metric stuff in school, "Everyone will be using this in 10 year" Guess we showed em!!!
