timing problem on 1985 2.3
I have a 1985 ranger 4x4 with a 2.3,I replaced the timimg belt cause it broke.I can't seem to get it timed exactly right,the crank pulley lined up at TDC and so forth.I get a miss after it idles for about 2 min or so and its only at idle rpm.After it warms up with the timing light on it,the tiuming mark goes from 28 dgrees BTC to around TDC with the lope at idle.Someone said there is a plug you have to diconnect before you time that motor,and then reconnect after the timing is set.Has anyone else heard this and which plug is that?I've tried everything else it seems.Thanks for any comment or suggestions.
