Rich Idle ?

Rich Idle ?
IS there a manual way to adjust fuel mixture at idle or is it all controlled by the computer? My trucks exhuast smells ever rich at idle not very nice to be around. anybody have the same foul smell?

My 93 smells rich at start up and will until the temperature comes up. That is normal. Does it smell rich no matter the temp of the motor? There is no manual way to adjust the a/f ratio, but if there is a faulty sensor or switch, that could cause a rich condition. If you have put too cool of thermostat in, you will get richer fuel.

Mine smelled like that when the Fuel Pressure Regulator went bad. It idled rough and spit wet black stuff (fuel) out the exhaust too. It ran fine once you were in the throttle. Check the fuel pressure if you can get a guage. Someone correct me its been awhile, but I think normal is around 40psi and bad FPR, you would see around 80psi.
