Brake light problems
Went for annual safety inspection and rejected;
Brake light stays on in dash, sometimes the ABS light stays on with it.
Center third brake light out. When I pulled it apart the socket looked bad, corrosion and or heat. Spliced in a new socket and the center light does not work but the 2 side cargo lights come on when depressing the brake pedal.
when using the dome light/cargo light switch only one side cargo light comes on, not both.
I will check out the brake pedal wiring and bleed brakes, they do feel a little weird, and then check for chafed wiring.
Truck has not been parked near any cemeterys for a awhile, sure acts like it though.
Truck was rejected for third Brake light out
Dash brake light staying on/ABS on intermittent
I cannot take the bulb out of the dash, it must lite up with key on before start.
I appreciate all comments, Thanks!
Reading some about the brake light problem, should I be checking the proportional valve?
Wire is connected and Em Brake.
Pedal feels much, much better. All pads and shoes are less than 10K, maybe 2 oil changes. I change 3-5K depending on whether she has been working hard or not.
Started her up, pedal felt good and brake light stayed on from start till I cut her off. The RABS light came on at start, then off then back on and stayed on.
I just this this week put new tires all the way around getting it ready for the inspection. No noticeable wobble.
I went through that cycle twice then shut her down and disconnected both negative cables.
I may return tomorrow afternoon but have not decided whether or not to threaten it.
A faulty abs sensor on one wheel can cause the light to come on. Or it could be wiring to the sensors. Two up front and one in back i think. Just had to replace one on my 96 ranger 4x4.
When a axle nut comes loose or bearings fail, things move around on the spindle taking out the abs sensors. That's why i mentioned loose wheels.
