Good morning! First time on a forum & I have some questions about purchasing & installing the undermount prep package for a fifth wheel plate on my 2017 F250 Super Duty Super Crew with the 6.9 bed. I've got a quote from the parts desk at the dealer but am trying to save some money so I can outfit my truck with more custom accessories. Is there an aftermarket under bed mount for my Draw-Tight plate or do I have to buy the OEM part (HC3Z*19D520*B) from my local dealer? Thanks in advance for any help/info - JBP

I bought the Factory 5th wheel prep online for around $500 bucks (plus shipping which was like $110), so call it $600 & change OTD. Many guys have installed it themselves...Check out this video:
It's on the last gen truck, but its the same procedure.
I opted to have a local off-road shop install mine as I do not have a tractor or lift to pull the bed off. They charged me $300.
All said and done it was about $900 for me to add the factor 5th wheel kit. I hade a local dealer quote me $1900 for parts and labor, which is ludicrous, and a second local dealer quoted me $1350.
I did have to wait about 6-8 weeks for the part to ship (it was on backorder), but aside from that, I'm really glad that I went the route that I did.
I did my own just lifting the bed with a 2X4 for a leaver, and blocks of wood to raise it enough to install the hitch.
Would have been easier with the bed removed, but it still only took a few hours
